Sekanak Connect
A digital waste bank where residents turn their waste into points, and points into vouchers.
Sekanak Connect runs the community waste bank for the Living Lab program. Residents sign up online, bring their waste to the collection point, and are rewarded by weight.
The tricky part was trust. Points are worth something, so nothing is credited from a self-reported number. Residents can give an estimate, but only a waste bank admin weighing the deposit in person can finalise it.
How a deposit works
1. A resident creates a deposit ticket with an estimated weight and gets a QR code.
2. At the waste bank, an admin scans the code and records the actual weight.
3. Points are credited automatically at the rate set by the super admin.
4. Once enough points add up, the resident exchanges them for a voucher ticket.
