Masjid Al-Irsyad

Masjid Al-Irsyad

A mosque's website with open books: its programmes, news and plans, plus the donations it receives and how its money is spent, all managed by the mosque's own admins.

A community mosque runs on trust, and trust is easier when the numbers are public. Masjid Al-Irsyad wanted a site that shared its activities and also showed the congregation where donations go.

Built in 2023, this is one of the earliest full-stack projects here: a React front end with its own admin area, and an Express and MongoDB API behind it. It's an early piece of work, written before the patterns used in later projects, and it's included for where it started.

What  it  covers

The mosque

History, vision and mission, and its organisation.

Programmes

Pages for the Qur'an school (TPA), the majelis and the FAKM, each with its agenda.

Open finances

Financial records and donations published for the congregation, plus the mosque's plans.

Admin area

Cookie-based login and forms to add and edit news (in a rich-text editor), donations, finances and plans.

The  backend

A small Express API with Mongoose models for news, donations, financial records and plans, using Multer for image uploads, deployed on Vercel. The front end talks to it with Axios and uses Flowbite components and a Quill editor for writing news.
